You could be jarring the optic nerve which believe it or not has a junction behind the nose that merges with the ear and nose and if pressure builds at that junction you can manifest all sorts of symptons , headaches, ear aches and even severe nausea.

Check and see that your goggles and helmet are not on too tight and if that doesn't help then try a trip to the chiropractor to check out your hips and lower back. You may be pinching a never some where in your neck from a misalignment created by your blading techniques. It maybe a relocation of the pain to a nerve junction in the back of your neck near the ear and a sympathetic reaction in the other ear.

Of course as my old doctor friend would say, strip and get up on the table or stop rollerblading. Which sound more appealing to you?

Start with the equipment check and some yoga before blading next time, then see the chiropractor, and if that fails it is doctor time.

Good Luck, and don't fall and bruise anything important.

At one time I ran everyday 10 to 20 miles. I had that pain in my ears also and even as a RN I was never really sure, but I think it has something to do with the fact that I would also itch. Do your legs itch when you start to work up a sweat? Both my daughter & I have this weird thing called exercise /heat induces urticaria, although hers is much worse. It is caused by a allergy type reaction when sweating or getting hot, you produce too many histamines. In the mild form, my ears would hurt & get red, & my legs would itch but I never actually broke out in hives just get a little blotchy. My poor daughter can't take a hot bath with out becoming one giant hive. I hope this helps.

It could be from the air circulating through your ears. Maybe if you cover them it won't be as bad.
