My wife always tells me in person and I like it that way. You get to see the wonderful expressions on each other's faces as you share the news.
Also you can give her a big hug and kiss right there!

I am four months pregnant and couldn't wait for my fiancee to come home from work THAT NIGHT let alone wait for a few days! I didn't want to tell him over the phone, so I did wait to tell him in person. However, it is my first baby and was an unplanned pregnancy so I was freaking out a little...and during the day while waiting for him to come home, I told about 10 people (mostly just wanting to hear that it was going to be ok and to get some support before telling him).
I told him as soon as he got home that night and he was glad that I told him in person, instead of over the phone. But he was a little hurt that I told so many people before him.
Hope that helps a little! Congratulations!

I wouldn't tell him over the phone. Of course, he needs to be the first to know, so you'll need to keep it to yourself for at least a week. If you just can't wait, why not Fed-Ex something like a rattle to his hotel for him.
I wrapped up the positive pregnancy test and gave it to my husband. I thought that was SO creative and cute. Well, he thought I had bought him a watch or something, and found my gift to be a bit disgusting! He was thrilled, but really grossed out. He did not find it cute that I pasted the positive test into the baby book, either. He chalked both up to pregnancy and new mother nuttiness.

Heres what you can do wait till he gets home and then do little games like make baby peas or baby carrots or put things that resemble a baby around the house and make it a guessing game. Or do like a pictionary with him or something. My husband already new before I did with my first and second just by the way I was. By the way congratulations im 36wks pregnate and so excited.

If you tell him by phone, check the weather first.
I told my husband on the phone xmas day. He was in Lake Tahoe, Nevada and I was in San Francisco, California. My husband was so happy he drove home to me. Through a snow storm which took almost 14 hours. In normal weather it takes 4 or 5 hours. He could have gotten hurt or worse. I learned my lesson and I think he did too.
Congratulations!!

If you can hold out and plan something cute for him when he gets home, that would be awesome. I was hoping to do that when I got pregnant, but as soon as the doctor's called to say my blood test was positive I danced a little jig and called him without even thinking!! LOL I just couldn't wait.
Congrats and good luck!!!!

I didn't with my girls and I wish I had. If I would have waited, I would of planned a special way to tell him. Such as meeting him at the door with a baby on board t-shirt on, or wrapping up the pregnancy test like a present.

I'm obviously a women and I know it'd be really hard to not call him right away b/c I know you want to talk about it and tell someone!! BUT it'd be really sweet to wait until he came home, cook dinner and suprise him with the test or a pacifer or bottle ..something.

I honestly think in person.
like a day before he gets home find out what time he should be arriving at the house.
and then bake a cake that has pink and blue icing , and says something cute on it referring it to the baby .

I'd wait from him to get home. This is a really special announcement. I would hate to have to do this over the phone.
