I am not sure I understand your question. It's the physics that will prevent us from reaching the stars. But we "see" things with much more than visible light. We have telescopes that "see" almost any wavelength in the EM spectrum aimed at the stars. Furthermore, we are beginning to use equipment that can detect particles that are not in the EM spectrum and these can be used to "see" out in space.

Our perceptions are irrelevant here. It is the vast distances that prevent us from reaching the stars. No matter can travel at the speed of light. If a material object approaches the velocity of light, its inertia increases greatly. One could burn the entire universe to power a spaceship, and it still could not reach the speed of light. The nearest star to our Sun is Proxima Centauri, one of 3 in the Alpha Centauri system. It is about 27,000,000,000,000 miles away. If a rocket left Earth at escape velocity, it'd take it 106,448 years to reach Proxima Centauri. Warp drive, tachyon spaceships, going througgh black holes, etc. are from science fiction tales, not the real cosmos.

Actually... light allows us to see most of the universe and almost all of the past.
The speed of light will not stop us from traveling to the stars. We will simply have to find a way to deal with the enormous amounts of time it will take to get from one point or another.

Our perception of light is not the problem.
The problem is the extreme distance to the stars. Going to another star is to going to the Moon as going to Tokyo is to going to the kitchen.

Why would that stop us?
Now, the *speed* of light on the other hand... that might cause some difficulties.

The distances involved are a problem, though.
