I have the same problem with my computer. I have my clock set to sync with time.windows.com or time.nist.com but whichever I use manually I get the message, "an error occurred while windows was synchronizing with Time.*****.com."
It seems to sync successfully when the "Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server" check box is first ticked.
It depends on how old your cmos battery is, your clock running slow is normally a sign of a dying cmos battery.

It could be a battery problem. Your laptop has 2 batteries, one that powers the laptop and a much smaller one that powers the clock and few other things. A clock slowing can be a sign that the smaller battery is acting up on you.
It's important to check this problem, if the smaller battery fails you could have hassle booting the computer.
How to fix it, if it is a battery problem? The best thing to do is to bring to a technician, or the shop where you bought the machine.
Sorry I can't help further.

For years now I relatively have been swearing by skill of AVG. I set up it on each and every laptop I run, and that i prefer to advise it to all of my shoppers on the save. additionally set up residing house windows Defender. between the two, i've got despatched out thousands of systems that thus far have had no issues and have not back. make certain you placed AVG to replace every day, besides as Defender, and set the two to do finished nightly scans. Vista's outfitted-in firewall, as with residing house windows firewall in view that XP, has been freaking mind-blowing. no longer something greater truly ought to be put in except you're an uber administration freak searching for issues.

Mine doesn't either, automatically. I just gave up and fetched a copy of nistime-32bit.exe from NOAA which queries the government "atomic clock" and can reset your laptop to the correct time...a manual operation, which lasts awhile

Is your time zone correct? It may be that at each Sync, the time is changed to another time zone than your own.
Hope this helps.
