Math is the underlying nature of all reality. Music is math. Dance is math. The blood pumping through your veins is math. You can go through life doing everything by general feel, but when you understand the mathematical basis of things, it all makes more sense and is much more beautiful.

I think was you mean is the more advanced math usefull. Things like Algebra, Trig, and Calculus in my opinion to the average person these levels of mathematics will never be used after leaving school. However to the above average person, to the engineers of the world this mathematics is priceless. They use math in everything and anything they can. Where is it to determine what kind of crown to put on the highway so they rain runs off but it doesn't make your car fall off or wear your tired out. It is used to determine how large and what shape food containers are so they hold a maximum amount but use as few materials as possible. Math is used in designing bridges or building.
The major reason these subjects are forced into students is because of the problem-solving skills it teaches students. Lets face it everyone has problems and being able to have the skills to logically think your way through problems is a major key to anyone success in life.
If more people could solve their problems for themselfs and didn't have to depend on the government this country wouldn't be almost 10 trillion dollars in debt. We wouldn't have a divorce rate that look almost worse than the national debt. We wouldn't have average americans $6000 in credit card debt.
Math is important. More then just building and designing things but teaching life long skills.

Knowledge - I think spelling is useful...
As for math, it's very useful. Granted, a lot of the stuff the average person learns in math, they do not use in the real world. But there are those who put math to practical use all the time.

No matter how much I hate math class, mathematics is the only constant truth in our universe. Math can be proven and used over and over, never being broke always being true. In math there is never a maybe, there is only right and wrong. Our universe is built on numbers, in complexity that many of can't imagine but through the use of math we can even get a glimpse of understanding what a fourth dimension could be.

Certain branches of mathematics, such as geometry, are more useful if you're looking to get into a career such as architecture or design. Problem-solving skills in math are crucial to develop, as they will build those areas of your brain to help you in other subjects and really make things easier on you in the long run. The point I'm trying to make is this: If you can develop your mind to solve math problems, it makes you smarter, and not just in math.

You can't be serious. Everything, and I mean everything, can be broken down into numbers.
In the future numbers will be the universal language.
Right now all computers really store are zeros and ones. Everything in your computer boils down to a 0 or a 1.
Cheers.

It all depends on what you want to do when you grow up.
There are a lot of people who never use math and still doing something else and leading a successful life. There are also people who use math everyday and make a living.
