Can't put your feelings on paper? True, feelings are sometimes hard to quantify but I bet if you were mad you could get the point across. First off all don't write like someone else because he'll spot that immediately. Try choosing one aspect and write about it...the way you like his eyes and why you do, his hairy back and the way you like to braid it because it makes him look like an Indian, Willie Nelson, Hercules or so on. Try reminiscing about how much you enjoyed your first date or maybe a particular trip you took to the Bahamas, Hawaii or the city dump. Don't try to cover everything in general, specialize. If your first date was a fiasco, write about how funny it was in retrospect. If you can't write about how you feel about him, write about how something you both did or he did for you made or makes YOU feel about yourself. How the flowers he brought before he shipped out made you feel, how the last hug he gave you made you feel, you get the point. It doesn't have to be poetic or a literary masterpiece, simply how you felt. Did the flowers surprise you? Were you secretly hoping he'd bring some? Did it make you remember how your dad brought your mom flowers? Or didn't? You had to have been thinking something, so write it down. Once you get comfortable about expressing how you feel about yourself, you'll be able to express how you feel about him.

Set down and act like he is right there with you, and you are telling him how much you love him.. go and get a book of poems, too, that will get you started too.. you may not want to put the poems in the letter, but they will give you some ideas.. talk to other people and see what they think true love is.. that will give you new ideas too.. just pour your heart out to him,, he really needs it right now.. he is wondering what you are doing at home while he is away, and if your love for him is as strong as it has ever been. let him know how you feel, and what you have been doing and how you have been feeling about him since he has been gone.. you might even want to get you a little tape recorder and just set down and start talking into it, and send him the tape.. he would probably love to hear your voice, over and over again.. good luck..

I totally agree with Penny.....you can also add a few lines from a love song you like. That's always kinda sweet...to a guy or girl...Depends on the type of guy he is....if he's macho, then don't make it too 'gushy', may make him feel uncomfortable....but you know your husband better than anyone and writing about what Penny mentioned is perfect.
Mentioning that your not that good at writing stuff like this (like was said above) is really sweet and will no doubt bring a warm smile to his face!
Take Care

you should attempt at least to write your genuine feelings,,something from the heart is better than writing what other people have written,,
just start off with typical things you'd say on the phone,,and then let him know how much your missing him,,let him know the reasons you love him so much,,what you miss the most about him,,
tell him all the things that make him unique,,the reasons why you chose him,,and not someone else,,you could also,,mention things he does that make you feel happy and special,,
i've given my hubby lil letters like that through the years and to my surprise he's kept them all,,he carries some even in his wallet,,he says he reads them when he's feeling low,,

Just write your feeling I was in the Marines stationed in Japan and I couldn't wait everyday for the mail for words from back home of encouragement it kept me going and I would say your husband would feel the same way they need all the help they can get there is no reason they should be there anyways

I gave up writing love letters once I married. After that, the chase is over and specifically situations, in case you write something candy, she might come after me desiring some masculine interest.

Just be yourself and write what you want.Tell him how you miss him and that you can hardly wait to see him again, you know what I mean.He will cherish every word you are going to write to him.Just write down the same what you´re telling him on the phone. You can even write in the beginning of your letter "You know honey,I´m think I´m not very good at this and writing about my feelings doesn´t come easy to me but I want to tell you........."

Try this, get a pen and paper, and just write down random little thoughts about him, things that you miss, memories you have, things you want to do to him when he gets back! They don't have to be in any order, once you get a whole page, construct them into a letter. Hang in there sweetie.

Truly you know how much I miss, and love you darling. I have never felt so alone in my life. I lay awake night after night hoping and wishing you were with me. I know that we talk regularly on the phone, but I wanted you to know how much I truly love, and need you in my life. Baby please be careful. I need you to come back home to me safely.
