Currency Exchange or keep it as a souvenir.

I imagine your friends gave them to you as keepsakes from their trips around the world. Some hobby/collecting stores have books or albums with slots or pages for coin and paper currency from around the world. You can hold on to it that way.

Another option is to exchange the foreign currency for American currency. Go to your bank and they should be able to help, or tell you where to go.

The coins will probably find a home in the bottom of a drawer someplace. Take the currency to a bank and see if they will exchange it to dollars or whatever your local currency is.
