I say it is and life is great in the USA for all its citizens like never before. We are so fortunate to have George Bush, jr in charge of things ...and he deserves all the credit for how great things are.

I think some are too stupid to read the link you've posted and therefore miss the sarcasm, they might want to read it and this link to see what the heck is being discussed here

It depends on who you ask. Some parts of the country are doing great. Others aren't. If you talk to a union guy in Michigan who's job is moving to Mexico, and now he's losing his house because he can't pay his sub-prime mortgage, he'll tell you things aren't good. If you ask the Texas-based government contractors or oil executives, they'll tell you they're doing great. I'm from Texas, and the Houston oil industry is booming like never before.

Bush had done OK on the economy. I believe the gains of this decade are concentrated on the upper strata of income-earners, but that make for a pretty good investment climate. The middle and lower classes are hurting. They're making money, but working harder and longer for earnings that are no more than what they got 10-15 years ago, adjusted for inflation. While things like health care and higher education have skyrocketed.

So, it just depends on who you ask.

We must make sure that we blame Bush. Because it would never occur to us to blame the idiots who took out sub-prime mortgages for homes they could not afford. Or speculators who greedily inflated the housing prices. Or the media for predicting a bust 5 years before it happened. Or the environmentalists who have rendered miles of real estate unbuildable for a noisy bird. Or the insurance companies who won't insure.

We could never blame the left-wingers who seem to revel in the demise of our nation's economic well-being for some sick agenda of their own.

So, let's just lay this latest bad news at the door of the President. Happy now?

Especially for the working class, whose wages have stayed flat for the last 25 years, and must work longer hours and have 2 wage earners in the family in order to make ends meet. "Trickle Down Economics" don't.

I suppose it depends on which statistics you wish to concentrate on. The American economy is resilent and doing okay (I wouldn't go so far as to say "great").

Only Liberals say our economy isn't booming. They'll say anything as long as it goes against our president because he's Republican. Watch, you'll hear it from them on here.
