The cheapest ASUS mobo for the CPU is $60 but only has 2 memory slots and takes up to 800mhz ddr2 but only 1gb each slot. If you set on Intel then I would go with a mobo with 4 slots and I would go with machspeed they are the only mobo with a lifetime warranty. I would go with this board here http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2700074&CatId=1533
I am a AMD fan though I will put my AMD home computer up against any intel even the so called Quad core Intel which in not really quad core it has 2 of the dual core chips on a single die so it acts like and can be sold as quad core. Now AMD has a true 4 cores on the same die that run faster and 19c cooler than intel quad....I am running a Dual CPU mobo w/dual AMD FX-62 (2.8ghz each) overclocked to 3.77ghz with 4gb of OCZ ballistic memory w/head speaders and a Gforce 8800 640mb graphics card and it doesn't take long to do anything. I can completely convert/copy and burn a 15gb dvd movie in a little over 4min...THanks

I'm guessing the overclocking will for the gaming.Comparing Amd with Intel's Cpu's Amd pours out more heat than our friend Intel when overclocked.Considering that you have a nifty cooler in youre ATX case youlle get about 0.9 to maybe 1.2 ghz out of you cpu bofore things start to crash.Lowering life expectancy with a few years if you really go wild i suggest you better stick with youre factory clocked cpu without you doing anthing or go up a few ghz just to gain a few frame rates. So yes good for overclocking but very unstable at highter numbers than Amd's cpu's.

Witht he speeds of today's cpu's... is overclocking worth it? Sure chips are expensive but the money you will spend on getting rid of heat is not cheap and you always run the risk of burning out your CPU which could be costly. Sure it is fun but just run it normally.

Hi. Sounds like it http://www.techspot.com/review/40-core2-e4300-vs-e6300-overclocking/ but heed the first answer's warning. You need good cooling. I use liquid cooling.
