Entitlement.
That's what they're all about. Entitlement.
They think they're OWED something... for whatever reason.
In the US, you have the right to LIFE, LIBERTY and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.
Note to some ~ the pursuit of happiness is different from happiness. You don't have a right to happiness. No one owes you happiness. You have the right to strive to succeed and have a happy life. The government DOES NOT have to hand that, or any of it, to you.
These are the same people who think they have the right to never be offended.
Now, if you listen to the Liberals, you'll hear them saying that the President doesn't care about children because he vetoed this bill. If you've ever actually READ the bill, you know it has less to do with children than it has to do with the Liberal agenda:
1. By saying it is 'for the children' they have used guilt tactics to push this original bill through in the first place. What it is in fact is the first step of Hillary's Socialist Healthcare Plan. The thinking is that if they can get you used to your kids being on a socialized healthcare plan, then they can drag you into one and you won't realize that it was their intention from the start.
2. The recent bill itself is NOT just for children. It will cover anyone up to 25 years old... so I guess any of you out there who are 24 on Yahoo Answers... you're a kid???
Oh, and did I mention that there is NO requirement to prove citizenship to be eligible?
Hmm... I wonder what that is all about? Could it be that they are once again trying to ram this immigration crap down our throats... only this time they're trying it one piece at a time.
SCHIP is a bad deal all the way around.
Oh, and Libs... shut up about the war already.
One has nothing to do with the other. We are talking about the way of life in America... and this isn't a socialist nation.
Your "poor" in America are nothing of the sort. Did you even know that 80% of households BELOW the poverty level have TWO televisions? Oh, my heart BLEEDS for them!
Funny how they can't afford healthcare but they can afford two television sets!

I am as rankled about the programs from the masses as you are. They would have us live in communes and we would have nothing left over in our own paychecks after taking care of their entitlements for our own needs. I don't mind helping those who are truly in need and I believe we should keep those programs. Not to expand SCHIP for people up to age 25 with kids of their own making $83,000 a year. That is absurd. Keep the children who need it on the program, not the scammers!
However, people in this country have many opportunities available to them. It is their choice to avail themselves of these opportunities or not.
The war BTW was a bipartisan effort, stop puttimg all the blame on Bush. He is not alone in the White House and he is not King George. He is the president with the congress and senate deciding issues with him.
There is affordable health insurance if you would look. I already pay my share of taxes. Probably more, I live in the state that is the poster child for socialism!
Just what is happening to America's initiative?

Aren't we already doing that? Medicare, medicaid, social security disablility, food stamps, w-2, section 8, WIC, etc.? Heck, I know we paid for my neighbors ipod, cell phone and big screen TV and now she's looking at getting a fancy car! I don't remember her ever working and her "disabled" boyfriend works for cash. I lost track how many kids it is now! At least we don't have to pay for her wedding. They don't want to lose any of their benefits!
Not to mention, now instead of working or getting an education to get raises and promotions, we upped the minimum wage instead! That's better than taking advantage of federal student aid to get an education to get a better paying job. Let's just keep paying them more to stay stupid!
Why stop there?

If you place a $ 400,000 debt on every member of my family because of your tax breaks to the very rich and oil companies, go halfway around the world and occupy a country with no clear idea of what you are doing or how to end it, then yes you can take $ 100 out of my cigarette budget to pay for needy kids health care.

I pay for your road, you drive to work, for your fire department, you hopefully never need, the police, who makes you secure, the bridge over the Highway, taking your wife to the mall. Heck, society gives you the opportunity to live a good live and part of a capitalistic society are the poor. That little boy/girl, which needs health care, is maybe the next CEO of General Motors, saving the job of 200,000 Americans from being outsourced. We spend daily 1 Billion on a senseless war and you cry for your 2 pennies not to be spend to save a kids live?

You have never paid a dime for my children. Nor for anything else although i have raise a few families on welfare myself.
But everyone complains but so many want democrats in the White House so they are asking for it.And with a Democratic president you will continue to pay.
Insurance for $100.00? Never, just a fantasy!

Lets see my taxes go to pay the Bush war each and every day we find the funds to support war but not health insurance. Pay taxes to support corporate welfare of oil companies.

I will gladly help pay for children's Insurance now so I don't have to pay catastrophic medical bills for them later because they didn't have any preventative medicine. I like to share. I am not selfish.
