I think it would be interesting to see the Deftones fronted by Dean Martin. For a lot of reasons that will never happen, but the thought of it cracks me up.

How about you? And it can be a crooner from any era.

I'm feeling Bing Crosby fronting Radiohead.

Something about that voice....."A green plastic watering can...." or "Blame it on your black star....." Yeah. Or even better - "We're not scaremongering....."

Can you hear it?

I seem to recall a period during the 90's where Tony Bennett was hanging out with Anthony Kiedis. Now that would be good for laughs, seeing Tony up on stage, perhaps shirtless, performing Give It Away.

Dean Martin fronting the 'Tones, that's too funny. He probably would have done a decent job on Change, although it would likely go a lot slower.

Yeah, shirtless Tony would rank right up there with Millie Jackson. Sorry about breakfast. :)

I'd say I'd definitely love to see Frank Sinatra playing with the Doors!!Going mad and singing the crazy part in the End, haha flashing on stage - maybe not!!
I can just imagine how cool Roadhouse Blues would sound!!!!

Or, (even though I don't like the band), I'd love to see Bryan Ferry(he's a more modern crooner, post early Roxy Music yeah?), singing with Slipknot!!Now THAT would be hilarious!!!
Or taking the place of 50cent!!
hahahaha

You know, I was going to put a joke answer down, but I was thinking about total song translation and it could be really interesting to hear Built To Spill translated for Sinatra. I could kind of hear a couple moments of it in my head with the big band. Could be pretty cool.

Anyway the first thing I thought of were the SNL skits with Will Ferrell doing Robert Goulet and Neil Diamond respectively. You've got to love the Neil Diamond Storytellers and the Coconut Bangers Ball.

It's hard to pick a favorite band for this question. Particularly one that more than 5 people will know. But I can think of a few mixes I would like to see. Two of which would have to be:

The Adicts fronted by Wayne Newton
He would fit like a glove!

Social Distortion fronted by Frank Sinatra
You have to replace one pinnacle of cool with another!

I can almost hear Bing Crosby [rip] singing "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses...
"woah oh oh oh, sweet child o' miiine"

Doing Axl's legendary dance perhaps..
That performance would be... um... interesting.
=]

ADDITION: Is Nat King Cole considered a crooner?
I just thought about what it would be like if he fronted The Cure..
Hmm, now that would certainly be something to behold hehe

Well, realistically, if you replaced Gene Simmons with Tom Jones and Paul Stanley with Wayne Newton, would you really be getting anything different?

.... and I'd pay BIG money to see those two on stage in the platform boots and grease paint.

NP: "Standing in the Shadows" - Dokken
