Contraceptive pills are to prevent pregnancy. Not Sexually Transmitted Diseases. It works by adding hormones or estrogen's to your body to prevent fertilization of your eggs with sperm. If you take the pill, you are putting a substance into your body that isn't naturally there. Studies have shown that some contraceptive pills are safer than others but it depends on the individual on whether that particular pill is the best fit for them. There are side effects in all meds. Some more noticeable than others, all depending on the individual. It is imperative to talk with your medical adviser for guidance, as all individuals need evaluation to find the right pill for them. Some have higher risk factors for complications than others and would require additional monitoring while taking the pill. If you are a minor and need private guidance, you should talk to a medical adviser at your local health department. I you are an adult, you should seek medical advice from your doctor. Good Luck!

"THE PILL" has side affects like anything else. Everyone's side effects are different it all depends on you. Me for example, I can only take Orthotricyclene(spelling). and nothing else because of the side effects I feel when I take any other pill. Some pills will make you in a sense feel pregnant or give you headaches or migraines(Especially if you have a history if them) or increase your cramps, your level of flow, length of period. And the list goes on and on....On the other hand some of my friends period flow was lighter and didn't last as long and they felt great. So again it all depends on you and how you personally react to it. And as far as it affecting you later in life with pregnancy; I'm not to sure you could always do some research. However because many forms of contraceptives contain testosterone depending how long you take it well my mom for example is now having to pluck the hair from her chin. It has made her grow hair in places that a man would grow hair naturally.

The pill is effectively a hormone that stops your body from getting pregnant. As it is taken everyday, leaving a space for a 'normal' period, fertility is not effected and would return to full use after a couple of months. There are several different types of pill but they all do the same thing. try a few until you find the one that best suits you.
Common side effects are weight gain and hunger. Some if they are not correct for you can cause other side effects such as extra hair and mood swings.
The pill is a relatively non evasive and harmless way to prevent pregnancy.
Watch out if you are sick or have diahorrea as that can cause the pill not to work.
It wont protect you from STD's so use a condom too until you and your partner have been checked out.
If you have acne or hormaonal mood swings the pill can act to help these issues.
I used the injection (The pill in injection form) for many years. This actually stops you from having a period and it took many years of worry for my fertility to return. i would advise anyone to stick with the pill instead. Hope this answers your question x

The pills come with a lot of literature... but here is some stuff I found.
Side Effects:
Oral contraceptives are not for everybody. Most side effects of the Pill are not serious and those that are, occur infrequently. Serious risks, which can be life threatening, include blood clots, stroke and heart attacks and are increased if you smoke cigarettes. Cigarette smoking increases the risk of serious cardiovascular side effects, especially if you are over 35. Women who use oral contraceptives are strongly advised not to smoke. Some women should not use the Pill, including women who have blood clots, certain cancers, a history of heart attack or stroke, as well as those who are or may be pregnant. The Pill does not protect against HIV or sexually transmitted diseases.
the website attached has some other info.

there are lots of effects of contraceptive pills.. its major effect is to prevent the fetus from maturing or it will prevent you from getting pregnant. the sad part of taking contraceptive pills are, if the pills wont take its effect, if the pills wont take its effect, it will affect the growth and development of the fetus or baby. So don't try taking pills, because there are research studies now that said. there are no safe contraceptive pills. If your not ready to get pregnant,, avoid making sexual interaction with your partner. this will surely help the both of you and especially your health and the health of your baby in the future.

No medication was made without any side effect. Even an aspirin has a side effect. Well from what I've studied pills will make your skin look nice but you'll gain weight and you'll have to stop taking it for a week or less to be pregnant. I donit know if its true if there is an effect to the baby.

NO contraceptive is 100% effective, so you will only be about 99% protected when taking it as prescribed.

What do you mean by "Safe" Pill?

Side affects vary from brand to brand and person to person. I personally have had NO side affects on my pill (Kariva). Some experience slight weight gain, acne disappearing, breasts becoming a little bigger. Your period could be lighter and less painful.

You spelled it correctly, don't worry! There are hundreds of different types and it will take a bit of trial and error to find one that agrees with you. Some may cause weight gain, irritability etc whilst others may make period pains much better and help your complexion. The best person to speak to is your doctor as they will ask you personal questions and find a pill that is best suited to you. You should never smoke whilst taking the pill (so the doctor says) as it increases your chance of blood clots.

What will happen? if taken properly you won´t be able to get pregnant till you leave it.

The safest pill in the world is the one your doctor prescribes to you, you must never prescibe any bc pill to yourself cause they can have major side effects in your body.

Yes every bc pill has side effects, that´s why your doctor has to precribe the best bc pill for you. bc pills should be tajen seriously, hormones are almost always bad to our bodies, cause they sinthetic hormones.
You can even develope a blood clot, pressure problems, vascular problems, so consult your doctor.

No it won´t affect you from getting pregnant, you will take the most a year to get pregnant, you are mostly fertil in three moths again, you take more depending on the method you use, like the patch, shot; etc.

Good luck! ;D

The Pill is a tablet containing two female-type hormones – an oestrogen (pronounced ‘ee-stro-jen’) and a progestogen.

Various different oestrogens and progestogens are used in the many different types of Pill which are available. There are currently 22 brands on the market in Britain.

What these two hormones do is to stop you from ovulating (‘producing an egg’) each month. And if you don’t ovulate, you won’t get pregnant.

In addition, the hormones thicken the secretions round your cervix – thus making it more difficult for sperm to get through. Also, they make the lining of your womb thinner, so that it is less receptive to an egg.
