Wow I can see why you are confused. I am! I don't think you should give up. Motherhood is WONDERFUL. It will come in time and you won't regret trying so hard for so long, trust me.
You are right, you don't want to stress yourself out. You NEED to know what is going on with your body. Pregnant or not. I think you may be... or was... or it could be one of those "chemical pregnancies" I hear about, but I don't know what those are as I haven't done research on it or experienced it.
Keep your head up. It is hard trying! I had a daughter in 2005 and no problems... then I conceived in last December and had a miscarriage. Then I got pregnant within a month, in January. The wierd thing is that I had NO symptoms at all... other than missing my period. I didn't have sore breasts like with my daughter, and I was in tears they hurt so bad with her. No cravings or nothing. I miscarried at 3 months. It makes me wonder if maybe I was always gonna have that miscarriage... that since I had absolutely no symptoms that maybe my hormones were messed up. I don't know.
I have been trying ever since my last miscarriage, well I had to wait two cycles. I have been trying for 4 months now. No success YET but I know I will conceive.
So will you.
Do you chart? If not I recommend http://www.fertilityfriend.com It is an amazing website. Give it a try. Good luck to you and a TON of baby dust!

I had trouble conceiving but I never missed a period the first month. I always had mine until the 2nd month. When I was pregnant the one test that worked for me was from the Dollar Tree. It is the cheapest and it showed positive quicker than the more expensive ones. I say you should try that one and if it is negative and you still don't have your period...call your ob/gyn and set up an appointment to have a blood test done. It may be easier to determine that way. I hope you don't have an ectopic pregnancy, this means the baby implants in your tubes and I don't know if that would show up on the test but I think it would..don't worry. good luck!

There is something called a "silent" period, which might explain the long time between menstruation.
If you are young newlyweds then you have not actually been ttc for ages now.
Relax!!!
Really. Just relax.
Enjoy the moment. Don't be so goal oriented. Pregnancy will happen. Quit forcing the issue. Allow your body, and his body, to do what they do, and have fun!

It sounds promising. The spotting is not always a bad sign. I know people that have experienced spotting in the early days of pregnancy. Are you going to do a test to put your mind at rest either way ?
Best of Luck x

Try the book "Natural solutions to infertility" by Marilyn Grenville.
A friend of mine tried for years to conceive, and underwent IVF treatment unsuccessfully. Then when she was 40 she was with a friend of hers who was in the same boat when she found out about this book. It recommends certain vitamins and minerals etc. Within 4 months of starting to take these vitamins both her AND her friend fell pregnant.
They got the book because they had heard of similar stories from other people. If you can't afford to buy it, why don't you get it from the library.
If you have been trying to conceive for more than a year it might be worth going to the doctor to get yourself checked over too.

you can spot early after conception when the egg is implanting into the uterus wall
some people still spot during pregnancy too
however people can also miss periods without being pregnant
my advice - is get hold of a test so that you know one way or another
