Tories would say that the history of UK from 1945 to 1979 showed that soocialism failed in Britain as economics and was rejected by the voters as unnatural for a free country.
No other country has our 'free' NHS, let alone plans 'free' teeth whitening service by the State.
The elderly are fitter now than in 1945.
M Thatcher actually said that there is no 'Society' except the agglomeration of many local societies formed freely by groups of individuals.
So, the answer is yes.

Well, at the moment, i would have to be with them on the "there is no society" thing.
After all, all gordon brown goes on about is "the last ten years have been full of economic stability", yet what use is economic stability, when society is falling apart?

Stop whinging.
Blair has given us 115 new hospitals, lowered unemployment to 1960's levels, raised 700,000 children out of poverty and stopped a 30 year domestic terrorist insurgency.
What did Maggie do by comparison? Sweet FA.

I totally agree with 'borderline' (above)
Someone is ruling us and it is not anyone we can vote for.
I'd love to know who it is.
Prime ministers are just the 'establishments' puppets.
