ok, cool out James, Dirk is nasty but he and his entire team shoot too many jump shots to win a championship. Dirk, although a good shooter needs to play closer to the hoop, plain and simple. Also, Devin Harris was shut down cuz he's not a greater shooter, he's a better slasher and they fell into Golden State's trap.

The Spurs get to the basket (Manu and Parker especially). Championship teams control the paint, bottom line. That's why the Warriors couldn't go any further in the playoffs, Boozer and the rest of the Jazz were able to control the paint and slow the game down.

The only team I've ever seen win a championship who wasn't good at getting to the paint were the recent Pistons championship team. But they played amazing defense, so it's a different story.

I think Don Nelson was the reason that they couldn't do anything in the playoffs last season. Nelson is a great motivator and had plenty of knowledge of the Mavs to feed to his players. Johnson was an assistant under Nelson and took over a team of players that Don Nelson assembled (with Cuban's money). It would be like having Spotswood train a players to defeat Team America.

It's pretty stupid to think it was Avery Johnson's fault, I mean he did only take them to their first NBA finals appearance in is first year as head coach. Nelson just knew how to get the Mavs out of their game.

No. It's Dirk's fault. He choked. But I expect the Mavs to be much better this year because of the rookies they drafted and the experience they signed.

No. What they should do is not play to other peoples style. If you have the best record in the league, and you don't run-and-gun, then WHY are you going to play GS Warrior style of basketball? You have the best record in the NBA for a reason.

No. Mark and Dirk is. Dirk is a choke and Mark adds pressure to the team and coaches.
