What is the point of them? I mean I could see the reason in the 70s and 80s when there were no equal rights for gays but personally I think they should go the way of bra burnings for now.

Gay Pride parades are still necessary ... especially in countries where gay marriages are not seen as legal partnerships. Yet.

nobody knows the point of them, they're just sad dillusional fools, who think if they prance around with placards saying "we're gay, let us adopt" or "we're gay and your being nasty to us" shut up and get on with life the ways others have to that don't meet the right critera for adoption, or people being nasty to others because they can get away with it. stop shouting about how different you are, and then in the next breath saying you want to be treated the same as others.

it's 2007 and we still don't have completely equal rights, not everywhere in the us. some states don't have laws protecting GLBT's from getting fired for their orientation, my marriage, though legal in mass is not legal according to the federal government, people are still trying to ban us from adopting, etc.
Ya, there's no "point"

Gay people don't have equal rights. For that matter, neither do women.
