Actually, I was kind of surprised that Betencourt didn't drill him in the 8th last night. But after that showboat move standing at home plate with his arms in the air and his team trailing by 4, he deserves to get plunked. That's like a guy who does a sack dance while his team is losing by 30 points.

I think as the team ace, CC has no choice but to drill him.

I say no. Any other player in the league would get it, but not Manny. It's like beaning a 12-year old. Cleveland has more class than that. His team was still down by 4, and Manny just doesn't get it. He uses all the brain-power he has to read pitches and he is a master at it. That is all you can expect from him.
Rolling? Dustin what game were you watching?

Yes, Manny the moron needs to be drilled big time. Either in the head, (his least vulnerable spot since there is nothing but air between his ears), or in the ribs just as hard as possible.

However tonight is not the time to do it. There are more important matters to take care of. The American League Championship is within reach and CC needs to focus on that. I'd rather get a ring than worry about a guy who could care less whether his team wins or not. (Via yesterday's interview with a Japanese reporter.)

CC is the Indians best chance to win the Pennant and I'm sure the team and the fans realize that.

Pay back's a (female dog) but next season will be a better time.

I'm not a fan of either team, but Manny showed himself to be a real idiot last night (ok, showed us that for the millionth time). As you say, it WAS like a sack dance with his team down by 30.

Imagine how people would've ridiculed ARod if he'd stood there and vogued after his late solo shot in Game 4 of the ALDS with the Indians way ahead. But somehow Manny gets a pass from many people, apparently because he can't be expected to really understand that his team was still way behind and had a long long way to go against a great bullpen.

As to your question though, I don't think the Indians will hit him next game. Let him look like the idiot he is, just go out and win the game and that'll be all the payback you need. Let the fans take care of ridiculing and taunting him for his antics.

Boston_Irish, your answer was perfect!!!!

I do not believe that Manny should get drilled in tonight's game. Why are people making such a big deal about Manny standing at home plate and watching his ball soar out of the park??Who the hell cares if the Red Sox were down or not, Boston made post season history on Tuesday, and I'm proud of how Manny reacted. He had every right too.

Too all the Manny haters, go crawl back under the hole you crawled out off.Manny maybe a cocky jerk sometimes, but man he can hit, and I'm proud that hes a member of the team I root for.

I heard that Wedge told his pitchers not to retaliate and to stay focused on the game, which is the smart thing to do. I was listening to all the analysts today, and they though it was a good idea for the Indians "not to wake a sleeping giant". It was stupid of Manny and a lot of fans got to see how childish and disrespectful he can be. Even if Boston was winning, it was stupid. I think that Cleveland didn't retaliate because they didn't want their pitchers thrown out or suspended because Manny was "being Manny", which means "idiot". They can't forget it though, and I think Ramirez takes one right between the numbers next season at some point.

Eric Wedge is too professional of a manager to allow the beaning of Money Ram in a situation like this. Shapiro would be stroking out in the stands if Wedge let CC drill that dim bulb from Washington Heights, NY. Why drill him when you can just eliminate his team from the postseason and at the end of the series winning game, all Tribe players raise their arms like Money Ram did and admire the beauty of a Boston defeat. Or....some ingenious Tribe fan can cut loose a swarm of gnats into Manny's dreds. He looks like a crack dealer.

He needs to get his *** knocked down, but this series is not the time. The Indians are playing too well to mess with distractions like this. Now next spring is a different story. Spring training, early season, whatever, he needs to get a high heater and then whoever throws it needs to stand there with his arms up in the air celebrating it. The guy is a complete joke. You are 35 years old Manny. Its time to stop being such a little punk.

I love you people who say that it is "just Manny being Manny" (the stupidest statement in sports too), but get mad when Sammy Sosa would do a hop out of the box, or when Pujols watched one earlier in the year.
Manny is a showboat who dogs it down the first base line most of the time. Instead of hitting him, I would prefer the pitcher to run after him when he is standing in the box and yell "run!!!" at him. That would be fun to see.

The Red Sox can't believe they are trailing 3-1 against the Tribe. Manny did his little stint last night because he thinks he is the homerun king, and in reality, he looked stupid for doing that, so therefore, he deserves whatever shortcomings the Red Sox has.

Scoreboard this time of year is the ultimate brush back pitch. The Red Sox seemed to have thought the series was going to be cruise-control - the antics in the bullpen during game one said it all - and now most on the club are trying to get tee times for the weekend at their favorite golf courses.

There is one club that was hungry this series and it wasn't the BoSox, who have reverted to the Country Club atmosphere during the Yawkey years. Manny was only standing there trying to figure out directions down to The Flats, so he could visit the dumps he used to hang out in when he played for Cleveland.
