The Vikings are known to have had settlements in NFLD and Labrador well before Columbus.

The Mongols crossed over the Alaska Pan Handle to populate North America.

Very old european like skelatons have been found in South America.

And,

Then their is Kennewick Man.

Take your pick! History can be written and re-written 4-5 times using these discoveries and facts.

Where do you people come UP with this CRAP?... OK... so the Africans came here first... PROVE IT... don't just make one of these idiotic "statements" that have NO HISTORICAL PROOF...

From what I can tell, the Chinese claims for the head Eunuch, Lo, is the MOST LEGITIMATE claim for who came to
AmeriKa first.

On the other hand, the Vikings have the best claim because that VIKING VILLIAGE on the Northeast Coast of AmeriKa, was dated to a couple of hundred years BEFORE Columbis... and, there is even some proof that the ancient Greeks may have actually reached AmeriKans shores 2000 years ago.

AS FOR PROOF.... well... Maize (corn) was being planted in Mexico and Mexico is the ONLY place Maize could have come from... and YET.. the Ancient Egyptians HAD corn.

So... who got here first? The Greeks, the Phonecians?, the Norse? the Portugese?... who really knows... but COLUMBUS was NOT the FIRST.... he was NOT EVEN CLOSE to being the First European to discover Amerika... let alone the FIRST EVER.

I don't know that there is any answer that can say for sure. The Indians were here before all of those so where did they come from? It is common belief that the vikings, who were seafarers, visited here before Columbus. Maybe that is true and maybe Africans did too, but only Columbus laid claim to the land and from there began the "immigration". So any number of people could have been here before him, but it was due to his exploration that there was settlement.

Well, I am pretty sure that the Vikings were here as well. I did not hear the Africans theory but possible. I would hate to be in a canoe in the middle of the Atlantic!

We are all out of Africa, according to the DNA research. There was actually a German team, which recently sailed with a raft like boat made of materials and tools, available from 6000 years ago, across the Atlantic. In all likely hood, we will never know, but 20,000 years ago, the first people crossed over the Bering street into the continent and settled it, everybody else just rediscovered.

There is proof that the Vikings were here. And the Australian Aborigines in Terra del Fuego about 20, 000 years ago. I haven't seen the evidence yet for Africans. Can you give some sources so that I can learn about it?

Thank you.

Some may say that natives came here through the Bering Strait before it disappeared (roughly about 10,000 years ago).

Some also may say that the Vikings came by what is now known as the East Coast of the U.S. and parts of Canada.

Before the arrival of Americans Indians used to live in America. "The Inca Empire collapsed because by the time Europeans arrived, smallpox and other epidemics had already swept through cities quite easily, thanks to intricate road systems and huge population movements. Dobyns concluded that “the Inca were not defeated by steel and horses, but by disease and factionalism,” referring to the civil war that came before clashes with the Spanish. After then there arised the low class and high class differences..
