First of all your question is kinda irrevelant because its quite clear you have no idea on how federal funding programs work.
The SCHIP program as it currently stands provides health care for kids who's parents make up to $30,000.00 a year. The bill that was vetoed allowed for the program to be expanded up to people making $85,000.00 a year.
The funding for bridges and infrastructure comes at the request of the states. It is those folks that ask for the money, not the other way around. Here in Ohio, they have been discussing for the last 20 years about how best to fix an interstate intersection. Now, when they get some money for improvements the state uses part of that money to repair a bridge instead of repairing the bad intersection.
The New Orleans levee situation was made FUBAR by the local and state governments not using the billions of dollars that they got for levee improvements, instead they spent those funds on various projects not even related to the levee's. (and this has been going on for FAR longer than you can even understand. (over 30 years))
Lastly, exactly who creates jobs?
If you make over $100,000.00 a year than you are one of those "rich" folks.
Remember the top tax bracket is 33% IF you don't use any tax loopholes to lower your overall taxes.

HC, the governance of 'Nawlings was corrupt long before Bush moved from Texas to D.C. And the DOT is more to blame for that awful bridge failure.
If you want to blame Bush for something legitimate, pin the immigration fiasco on him like I do. Oh, and the Dubai deals as well.

Alot more as long as they have control over our country. They only care about the rich and/or the people who vote for them. To the conservative mind, their god is the Almighty Dollar, and nothing and noone else matters.

New Orleans flooded for a variety of reasons. Some the governments fault. One other fact is they lived in a bowl it was only a matter of time before it filled up.

How many more Americans will be killed by liberals 'nanny state' mentality that dumbs down the masses, promotes laziness through welfare handouts, and produces generations of families who cannot survive on their own but must be helped with everything?

How many more Americans will land themselves in a crapload of debt because Democrats want to raise every tax imaginable? Do your research, pal. It's kind of hard to afford healthcare when you're paying insane amounts of taxes, and when they took over office that was literally like, the first thing they did. Raise taxes.

great question, and a huge concern. i read this morning that if we go to war with iran, russia will be all over our asses. i wish our country could evolve and have universal healthcare. and it would be great to quit spending money to buy guns and bombs and use it to take care of problems in America, i.e. homeless, hungry, the poor.
