...do they push everybody out of the way to get their medicare, and have their hands out begging for a social security check?

Wouldn't it be more "American" for them to leave the socialized Medicare and social security for the people who believe in it, and need it?

The only conservatives who complain about these programs are the ones that are under age 65. I've never heard a retiree complain that their SS check was too big, or they wished they didn't have medicade.

Your right....the same people who complain will be the first ones in line to "get what's coming to them" the day they turn 65.

Umm...65 isn't necessarily the magic number any more for cash benefits. It IS still the age a person can file for Medicare Parts A & B.

And if a "con" had worked and paid into the SS system, why shouldn't they be able to file for their benefits when they're eligible?

Actually, not everyone takes their ss check or uses medicare. I know, it's hard to believe, but there really are people who won't take something just cause it's free.

OK - yes, there are some socialized institutions in America. And yes, many Conservatives do enjoy the "benefit" of them. But that doesn't mean that it is OK to turn our Republic into a Socialist country. I despise paying SS and medicare, but I have no choice. I want to KEEP as many choices as I currently have. I don't want to GIVE my choices to the Federal government. And I'm sorry that you do. I think it sucks....

I don't know any conservatives who do what you claim. Do you have any examples?

My father retired, but they saved enough that he does not need Medicare and they have private insurance. They actually need it because my mom has a cardiac condition that medicare would not deal with well and they want to be able to see the doctors they want.

He also continues to work. He was a very bored retired person, and he got a part time job he loves more for something to do than for the paycheck.

Making generalizations like that shows prejudiced thinking.

I suppose it has something to do with getting up at 6am to go to work for 35-45 years.... I know that is a difficult concept for you, a lib to understand, but there it is anyway.
By the way... I will be retired within 5 years. I have worked hard and made good financial decisions. My social security check will not be the foundation of my senior years, rather just a little icing to the cake as I have not sucked Mother America's breasts dry. Again... A Difficult concept for you.

So long troll!

Hey the National Socialists need that money to pay subsidies to ADM and to provide no bid contracts to Halliburton. Geez they can't do that if they pay back the people who have paid into the system their whole lives.

the posts saying the cons are the only ones paying into it just illustrates what kind of intellectual prowess they are wielding.

i have paid into it my whole life and i will never see a dime of it. i work almost two months out of the year DIRECTLY funding the program.

and when they GOPees scream bloody murder over social programs, it just demonstrates yet another profound hypocrisy. but nothing surprises me anymore.

That's partially their money, so they want some of it back. Otherwise they just allowed the government to steal from them.

Well maybe because they WORKED for social security. If you had a job you would know they take money out of your check every week for social security. They are only getting back money they paid. It's not a free handout...Oh, well it is for some people.

edit:
I love how people give a thumbs down for a FACTUAL answer. Just because you don't like the answer doesn't mean you should give the person a negative.
