Don't ALLOW yourself to be lonely. Being alone and beling lonely are two different things. Feeling lonely is an emotive state. There are things you can do to keep from getting that feeling. Find something you enjoy doing and focus on that. Take this time to learn something, take a course at a local college in something you'd like to learn about. Learn a new sport or hobby. Join a gym, exercise keeps the endorphins (good vibes) going.

Just try and do something you enjoy before. Try and get together with friends, as this time can really get you down. Or join some kind of clubs etc. Meet new people, go out with the girls. Oh this is not an easy one. x x

Talk to someone, find something to do that you like, get involved in something that will get you out of the house. Don't just sit and let the loneliness consume you.

Get out and meet people. Get or borrow a dog (they are great companions also) but when you walk a dog you make all kinds of friends. Join a gym, you not only get in shape but you get more energy. Anything that gets you out and about, and remember to be friendly when your out there. People respond to a friendly smile.

Your local church probably has social events and volunteer groupos. That would be a good start. you get to meet people and help people.
sometimes helping others makes you feel better about things going wrong in your life.

involve yourself in activities. Things you've always thought about doing but wouldn't.....do it now...no one stopping you but yourself.
start new active hobbies, join hobby groups, get involved in charities that interest you. If you have children you may get them involved as well. Make it a new family thing. If you don't have kids then get out there and do some adult activities.
