If you want to work from your computer at home, you are probably going to have to do it as a business owner, rather than as an employee. There are no online work-at-home "jobs".

When you apply for a job offline, in the bricks and mortar world, do you have to pay anything? Of course not. It should be the same in the online world. If you are asked to pay any money, at best, it is a business opportunity, but more likely it is just a scam.

Be very careful that you don't get scammed.

I do affiliate marketing online. I've been doing it for a year and I'm getting ready to quit my regular job, as I am now making over $10k per month. It takes dedicated work, at minimum a small amount of initial working capital, decent organizational skills, and persistence, but you can make a living at it if you stick with it.

But that is a business.

If you want something easy, with no investment, you could probably make $500 to $1000 per month getting paid by companies to write postings on blogs about their products. That's about the only legitimate way that I know of to earn money online without any investment.

Good luck to you.

There is a MSN money article that talks about this and lists 4 companies. The article is a take off from a Good Morning America piece about working from home. The link is long so try a google search for 'work at home jobs' and look for the one that is MSN money. The title is 4 real jobs you can do from home.
Before you jump into it do your homework and research because it may not be as easy as you think.
As for companies if you are in a state where they hire Alpine Access is a good one as well as Live Ops.
One other thing, if you can handle typeing all day then you might look into one of the medical transcription courses that are around for about $1500 and they assist you with finding work.

There pretty much aren't any. If you don't have a special skill then any company that needs more generic skills (labouring, typing, envelop stuffing, whatever) will be able to find people who are willing to come in to their offices.

If you're a professional with knowledge that is in high demand then you might be able to work from home but you'd probably know if that's the case, some companies might allow long time employees to work from home but if you don't have one right now you might have trouble with that (and it doesn't always happen).
