I often tell my students that it is possible that the ideal job for them may not yet have been invented. The good thing about careers is that you aren't make a "til death do us part" commitment to them in today's world. You could have six to eight careers during your worklife.
Instead of panicking about it, think of different careers as different outfits that you are trying on to see how you feel in them. Have fun imagining yourself doing a variety of things. You still have a while to go until you have to make any decisions at all, so keep your options open, and learn as much as you can. Get great basic skills, take courses which sound interesting, when you go to college take advantage of all opportunities to listen to a variety of people speak about what they do, and you will eventually find something which is a fit for you. I still have graduate students who haven't quite decided what they want to be when they grow up!

Sometimes the end of high school is early to choose. You do however have the choices narrowed down to a few. It's OK for many to try one and then decide on something else. Many of us end up with two or three careers in our lives.
Your school or you could arrange "tour days" where you go among with a dentist or a lawyer to work. This may open your eyes as to what the jobs are really like. Experiencing the work environment is important.
In the end, to me, the top question is: "Will I want to get up in the morning to go to work doing this?" It's about Passion, not money, be successful at what you choose, yes, but mostly, be happy.
Hope this helps.

An average person has 6 jobs in their lifetime (from the odd spot on pads).
I strongly suggest not jumping straight into law -maybe later on. If a lawyer, plan some interesting things (like travelling or moving out) for a few years, and having fun before or while doing the course until your 30. THEN get a job at a lawfirm or whatever.
P.S. I'm in yr 12
Take something that you've some interest in, because there are so many given options that are associated with it. And when starting uni, you can switch within a given period of time (usually after 1st semester???) if you don't like what you're being taught and if it's not for you.

sometimes u dont even have to try hard or think so much into it. what do u enjoy doing? what are u good at? look at ur parents what do they do? are u a family of doctors, lawyers or investment bankers? they might help-but never be pushed into doing something bcos in a few years when it gets tough u might blame them. choose a major u will enjoy and where ur good at for the time being when u still havent dcided. but learn to stick to it. dont end up as jack of all trades master of none.
have fun. in the end u see, its you who will pull urself out of bed every morning.

Don't simply mobilephone. Go to a potential paintings situation in man or woman. Also, get dressed the way you might in case you have been going to begin running there proper while you stroll in. Be positive within the interview, and appear the interviewer within the eye.

Yo should find a job that you enjoy, that pays decent money, and has hours that will work for you........when you're looking for a job, you should check for the flexibility of the hours, the salary, the raise policies, promotions, and the type of stuff that you'll be doing to make sure you're getting into something that maybe you'll enjoy.
