Every person who has been on the cover of Madden Football has had bad injuries the next year.
Why does this only happen to players on Madden Football and no other sports game?

I'd say this coincidence has been happening since '94.

Hey Stonewall, EAsports picks the players they would like to have on the cover, not Madden. Last year's NBA Live had Adam Morrison on the cover.

I definately think there's something to the Madded curse. It happens just about every year. The guy on the cover either misses the majority of the next season due to injury or his stats really suffer.

Ray Lewis, Eddie George, Shaun Alexander, etc, etc....

I know that several players have turned down an offer to be on the cover. Crazy stuff.

I don't believe in curses at all, but I do believe that the players believe in it. Heck, LT turned down the opportunity and the money that went along with it because he beleived in the curse. I think the problem is that it is in the players heads now, which might actually be causing them to get hurt.

As for why it hasn't happened with any other sports game, my guess is that it was a fluke the first year that the player on the Madden cover got hurt, the year after it could have been a fluke, but now its all just in people's heads. I guarantee if a player on the cover of MLB '09 The Show get hurt next year we'll all be making a big deal of it. Although, what we do need to remember is that it football, a full contact sport where I can't remember watching one game, college or pro, where I haven't seen at least one player get hurt.

i trust contained in the madden Curse because you both get damage or have an inconsistent season. i in my opinion imagine the Madden Curse is the least element he has to situation about. He doesnt have a shown runningback contained in the backfield. He also doesnt have any receivers round him. The lose of pacman jones will damage besides. because he gave the titans performs on particular and protection. So extremely Vince youthful has to carry the titans on his back all season lengthy so that they are frequently a contender i wish he successed tho

Well look what it has done to John Madden, he was on the cover until they started putting NFL players on the cover. The "Madden Cover Curse" has made him completely senile!

I'm a bit iffy about superstitions but in saying that, I would certainly think twice if the Madden cover was offered to me!

Because Madden is racist. They never put any white guys on the cover. Look at all the black QB's on the cover: Vick, McNabb, Culpepper, Young. You can't tell me that Favre, Manning, Brady, Palmer, etc. aren't better than those guys. What's up with that?

Don't be silly.

What do you mean with bad injury? A season ending one? Because he's listed as day-to-day.

It is a rather odd coincidence. How long has this been going on anyway?
