i have a flag with 48 stars on it what year did it change stars to 50

Arizona became the 48th state in 1912.
In Jan. 1959, Alaska became the 49th state and Aug., 1959 Hawaii became the 50th state.
So your flag is between 95 to 49 years old. I'd keep it under some kind of protection.

Arizona became a state in 1912. Hawaii and Alaska were the last two to become states.

I'll bet 49 star flags are pretty rare - has anyone here ever seen one? The years 1959-60 must have been very good for flag makers!
