Im talking about human progress and human harmony.

Neat question! I think that you can't have progress without some level of dis-harmony - just like if you had 100% calmness and harmony, there'd be 0% progress.

Anything worth inventing, establishing, or upgrading is going to have to go through some debate and discussion before it becomes fine-tuned.

Like, take our constitution, for example. You'd better believe that all those politicians didn't just sit there with there hands neatly folded in their laps while developing what would be the founding constitution.... they argued, banged their fists on tables, and acused each other of being "mad"...but in the end, they had a pretty darned good end-product.

Why would you consider them mutually exclusive? People can and do work on multiple things at once and often progress and harmony help each other out.
