Is this the more powerful than when Scorpio is positioned in the sun? What kind of traits are associated with this that can not be found if Scorpio is a sunsign?

To the answer below, are you sure the ascendant is merely about 'projecting' an image, if that was the case, how come I once read that when Scorpio is rising, it casts its entire influence on the birth chart. Many people have no desire to project an image, does that mean the ascendant becomes defunct? My question was, is it more powerful to have scorpio as a rising or sun sign, and what differentiates them?

it means you are projecting or want to project a scorpio image, strong and mysterious and sexy but you may be not all that really.
