When a full glass of red wine ended up on the carpet, I diluted the stain with a very wet cloth. let it dry
then use a laudry detergent that remove stain like stain away or other

Depending on the type of carpet you have try using shaving foam not gel and working into stain with an old toothbrush.. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and use light colored slightly damp towel to blot up the stain.. Just don't saturate the carpet it may not dry properly and then you'd have a mold problem...

White wine removes red wine, cover stain and scrub. The problem is i think you have to do it immediately but i suppose theirs no harm in trying. Good luck.

Set fire to your house.
