It does to me. I either use that 15 minutes to lay in bed and wake myself up, and ponder how much my day is going to suck, (because I hate leaping out of bed the second my alarm goes off) or, I fall back into a light sleep for a few more minutes (If I'm REALLY tired), and when I'm that tired, every minute helps. However I do know a guy who used to set his alarm clock for 2 hours earlier than he actually had to wake up, and then he'd hit the snooze button every 10 minutes for that entire 2 hours. That never made any sense to me. I always wondered why he didnt just set his alarm for 2 hours later, and actually have 2 extra hours of good sleep, instead of 2 hours of light sleep, being interrupted every 10 minutes by a stupid alarm.

Yes it does - when I was in high school - I used to set my alarm to an earlier time and pressed snooze 2-5 times before I got up.

The idea is that it's horrible to be woken up with a jolt - and forced to begin your day by jumping out of bed. It can even make you feel nausious with an unsettling feeling in your stomache. A couple of extra minutes acclimates your body to the new day and is definitely more relaxing.

Even with pre-school-primary school children - it's better to wake them up but tell them that they can stay in bed a bit longer so they aren't forced. It makes the morning go easier with less crankiness

(I don't know about you but even sleeping 15 minutes on a bus or train can do wonders for your body - like a mini cat nap.)

it feels like it at the time, but snoozing actually makes you more tired..if you were to get straight up out of bed when the alarm first goes off in the morning you are actually more awke during the day. hen you snooze you rmain in a sleepy mode for longer and it is harder to get motivates. althoug i love to snooze in the mornings...it is not the best thing to do.

So your significant other wants you to get up when the alarm sounds the first time? Don't bring your marital disputes to Y/A! lol
I've hit the snooze button so many times it eventually quit going off. So I slept .

It just makes me more cranky, cos I know the alarms about to go off again, and I never fall asleep properly.
