friends my name is earl scrubs south park and two and a half men are all funny shows if I could watch them all day i'd be in my element lol

Ever since Friends ended the quality of American comedies has decline. Will and Grace started out funny but faded in the end. NBC has a whole bunch of lame comedies (My Name is Earl is decent but overrated). I HATE Two And a Half Men since Charlie Sheen plays the same typecast character he always plays. The only funny comedy (Scrubs) is rarely shown by NBC for some inexplicable reason.

As opposed to what? I love some of them but others I can't stand. They seem to be ones that were the most popular, too, like Seinfeld and Will & Grance and Sex in the City. All dumb to me. I love Friends and I LOVE My Name is Earl!
But GEE, if you are going to bash Americans and their comedies WHY are you in the USA section and not UK? Hmmmm???? NOT funny people, not funny!

Try watching The Cosby Show re-runs. Also watch The Fresh Prince of Bel Aire, Two and 1/2 Men, Everybody Loves Raymond, Everybody Hates Chris, The Bernie Mac Show, Frasier re-runs, and try The Big Bang Theory. George Lopez is very funny, too.

I like them, I love Friends and Frasier. Not really a typical comedy but has comedy elements, I love Sex and the City also.

The modern American t.v. comedies are all unimaginative and stuck in 1950's-style sanitised quick-gag humour.
All of them are boring and dull.
However, some old American comedies like The Beverly Hillbillies and Sgt.Bilko are still brilliant today.

i like some of them like seinfeld, frasier, king of queens and becker but they have some bad shows too.some are really awful! there isnt much intellectual humour in any of them.its all pretty low level crude humor. but there are exceptions.
but ive noticed most of them whether you like them or not seem to revolve around food!..scenes are mostly in diners,kitchens, coffee shops or snacks on the sofa. man can they eat!...excluding married with children of course...dont think al bundy got a square meal cooked for him the whole time lol

Overall pretty cr&p - when you compare to UK stuff like Morecambe & Wise, Dave Allen, Jack Dee - absolute classics.
Only a handful of US shows are good: two and a half men, cheers, everybody loves raymond, everybody hates chris - all great.
Cr&p ones - Fraser, Seinfeld, Friends, etc etc.
