Why don't you just suggest that the two groups sit together for a while, have coffee together or something? Then they can decide if they'd like to join them or not, and you can tell the classroom group in advance that you like hanging out with from before, and that maybe they'd like to meet them. Keep it casual and friendly, so that the vibe is that there will be no hard feelings if they decide they don't want to.

Hey its not a major problem.

Why dont you be flexible? Speak to both parties and say 'hey there's a bunch of people I've got to know and why dont we arrange a night out for all of us' that way you know up front if they are ready for all of this or not. Also when you have to sit with these folks, it will be clear from the start that you socialise with more than one group and you will look like the 'social one' and be asked for nights out with both groups. Not a major problem is you ask me, just be flexible, be diplomatic with both groups and also have a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good lucK!
