You are right and it is indeed a disappointing state of affairs that cleverness is myopically understood as the ability to flout the very morals that the society has laid down for the longer term assurance of collective wellbeing and balanced progress. Our penchant for the short term outlook and a quantitative approach as opposed to the long term and qualitative one, is bound to take us downhill... I have little doubt about that!!

No, life is what you make and others don't matter...it's your own deeds that count...you've got your choice, so just make it...other people don't really count...you are your own master...I think...
