i believe we fear death because we don't know what is going to happen to us, and we know we are going to have to answer for our sins, we also have seen dead people at funerals and know that they don't come back. we may fear leaving this world because we have an attachment to the people we know or our life. people do fear the unknown.

Well, that's why so many people are religious. Fear of the unknown is a powerful tool to control / influence human behavior.
I had full anaesthesia once and I imagine death to be like that. You know nothing, you feel nothing, no concept of time.. just nothing. So in a way it's nothing to be afraid of because there will be no pain or suffering. The reason why I'm not looking forward to dying is because I know it's the end of everything I love and appreciate. So it's the loss that saddens me, not fear of death per se or what comes after because I'm pretty convinced that there will be nothing afterwards.

I really fear death because i believe nothing happens after you die. Thats the worst of all i think. I just try to be happy and will do as much as i can to achieve everything i can in life. That way when im old and nearly on deaths door. At least i will have a few stories and can say ive really lived.

I kind of fear death, the biggest fear is that nothing happens, but I have had family that had near death experiences and they have all told me that something does happen, etc I also believe that there is a power greater then us something we cannot see, God? Maybe. Death is something that is going to happen to everyone at some point, enjoy life while it lasts.

Most people wonder about death also, (as do I), because they don't know what will happen. But for most its not really a fear, its just something that they wonder about.
Try not to worry about, it shouldn't happen for a long time.

I think that most people fear death because of the uncertainty of what happens afterwards. Others, perhaps because they are not finished (not to say that anyone is finished with what they want to do) but that they hope to do more with their life. And still there are others who fear becuase they have not made their penance of misdeeds and want to correct their faults before they stand before God.

It is in fact normal to fear death early on in life such as your childhood but later on it should be less frequent to totally absent. Deaths a natural occurrence that shouldn't be dwelled upon amongst the healthy or the sick!

If you have strong belief, why you have fear of death... Rumi says, when I die, that day should be celebrated as wedding day because I'm going to see my lover (the God)... if you love God, and beliave him so death just the bridge to meet him. So there is nottingh to afraid of..
