could you please tell me what people mean when they type "kkkk" to express laughter. Scientifically, are there homo sapiens who actually utter sounds similiar to "kkk" when they laugh?

This has been troubling me deeply.

U know, in all seriousness I had been wondering about that myself ... so here are some of the things I've discovered:

(kkkk) is Hangul (the Korean alphabet) for "hehehe" or just giggling in general. Cyworld, the Korean Myspace, is full of this word on every page! It is also used in instant messaging, similar to the use of LOL for English conversation.

Three K's or four K's, it could just be a typo, so for me the obvious one pops out immediately, KKK=Ku Klux Klan, the name of several past and present organizations in the United States that have advocated white supremacy, anti-Semitism, anti-Catholicism, racism, homophobia, anti-Communism and nativism. These organizations have often used terrorism, violence, and acts of intimidation, such as cross burning and lynching, to oppress African Americans and other social or ethnic groups.

KKKK also, apparently means the opposite of KKK, so for example:
1) Ku Klux Klan is Krap
2) "I'm a member of the KKK........K"
3) KKKK=ku klux klan killers, as "I wanna join the KKKK!"

KKKK=an AM radio station located in Colorado Springs, Colorado (I was stationed at NORAD 1997-2000)

KKKK=Kandukondain Kandukondain, is a 2000 Tamil film directed by Rajiv Menon.

Also, some lesser known of these (based on country of origin mainly) include:

Kalmyk Kavallerie Korps, see Kalmykian Voluntary Cavalry Corps

Katipunan ("Society"), a revolutionary group from Philippine history; full name Kataastaasang Kagalanggalangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan (roughly translated: "Supreme and Venerable Society of the Sons of the Nation")

Kokusai Kogyo Kabushikigaisha, a Japanese bus and taxi company

AG Kühnle, Kopp & Kausch, a turbine manufacturer from Germany

Kernkraftwerk Krümmel, a nuclear power plant in Germany

The Turkish Armed Forces, known in Turkish as Kara Kuvvetleri Komutanligi (KKK)

Kappa Kappa Kappa, a social fraternity

Kool Kids Klub, a promotional club for Kool Aid beverages
A Scottish firm which sells falconry supplies: see http://www.falconclubs.fsnet.co.uk/KKK Scotland.htm

Kokusai Kōryū Kikin, or the Japan Foundation

Kinder, Küche, Kirche, German slogan

The 3-letter airport code for Kalakaket airport in Alaska

Catechism of the Catholic Church, (in German) Katechismus der Katholischen Kirche, (in Polish) Katechizm Kościoła Katolickiego

or what about one something someone might make up like:
Knights Knowledge Known Knightly (in that case the last "K" is silent so Knighlty refers to Nightly) sort of reminds me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail's Sir Galahad & having to be rescued since he is both "the Chaste" and "the Pure"!!!

Why is this so long? And why must I bring up the fact that KKKK can mean so many different things? The goal of using shortcuts like K instead of OK still slips beyond me! Isn't the goal of communication to convey our thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc. so that the receiver can understand them?
