My right breast produces more milk than my left. I let her eat off the left first, but just as ofter as the right. Is there way to increase my supply. I plan on trying to have her latch onto my left more ofter, and pump if I can. Is there anything some of you suggest besides those things? Thanks.

My youngest only nursed on the right breast for the first 3 months. There was something about the position she didn't like when I tried to latch her on the left. My right breast produced enough milk to satisfy her. I did always try to nurse her on the left at every feeding and pumped that breast after feedings to maintain milk (I used the expressed milk I had frozen to mix with cereal when she was older). Then one day when she was 3 months she latched to the left and from then on had no preference. Hope this helps.

Really the only way to increase your milk supply is to either nurse your baby more or pump. Are you breastfeeding only? If so, then your body will produce all that it needs based on how much the baby nurses. My left breast used to produce more than my right, and now it's the other way around. I'm not sure why it's like that, but I don't really think it's a big deal.

You are doing the right thing having your baby start with the less productive breast. Don't be too quick to change to the other breast either. You want to try pumping that breast after each feeding as well.

I would check with a lactation specialist about your positioning on that side. If you are right-handed, when you hold your baby in the your left arm, you may be uncomfortable or awkward. Maybe try laying down to nurse on that side?

drink root beer and eat peanuts that what the hospital gave me to bring in my milk and to keep the supply up and it worked and then they told me to pump in between feedings to increase the supply
