The default OpenOffice format is the open document format (filename.odt - what you will see if you do not have the file extension view turned off). This is an Open Standard that anyone can use.

Most dullard computer users have paid for Microsoft's office which uses it's own proprietary (owned by Microsoft) file format. They will underline their stupidity by claiming I got it with the PC, but of course they did pay for it as the price was factored into the cost of the PC. They might also claim that everyone uses Word, but this isn't true either, as you know, from you own experience.

Word cannot open .odt files (before version: Office 2007).

You can make things easier for these dull people by saving your file as a proprietary Word format. See File | Save As and change the File Type drop down box to Microsoft Office 2000/XP/2003 format. Or better still you can use another open standard Rich Type Format or .rtf...

Orange might want to in basic terms settle for smtp from a subscribed connection because they could extremely perceive the source device and authenticate it. Many mail amenities do no longer enable smtp till you connect a paid provider now, because it makes safe practices a lot less annoying to implement.

Are you saving the document as a .doc by using the drop down menu in open office?
