Church rituals have no impact on the disposition of one's soul. If you are a person who knows God and pursues a path to a more complete knowledge of God then you will be "in the light" after this life is over. A person's soul floats to one of several levels of this higher state if the person has removed from themselves character flaws such as anger, violence, greed, envy and all of the myriad addictions that bind one's soul to the earth and separate that soul from God. In addition, the development of one's soul is enhanced through constant pursuit of love, joy, kindness, gratitude, and mercy. If one does not pursue this path during their lifetime they proceed to an existence best described as nothingness, confusion and darkness. I know that this contrasts sharply with the conventional Christian representation of "Hell", but I do not view this state as any less of a "Hell." The important matter is that a soul must willingly accept God in order to move forward into the light. As Jesus wisely stated, "I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness" (John 12:46). Also Jesus said those in the darkness “do not know whither they goest.” This is the sad state and likely permanent state that awaits souls who fail to know God.

Unfortunately, according to Christian beliefs, the unbaptized cannot enter heaven. Therefore even if you were to make the cut, you wouldn't see them there. Your best bet in that case would be to live a life of sin so you could meet them in Hell.
You're better off honoring their memory in a more rational way, such as putting together a genealogy. I honor my ancestors through Poetry, since creative writing runs very stronlgly on my mother's side.

The dude above me is wrong. You dont have to be babtised to enter the gates of st. peter. Getting babtised is just a public way saying i love god.
