OMG yes! I think they can clearly see about a foot and a half, with everything REALLY fuzzy at 3' away.

Their hearing and sense of smell is phenominal though, making up for the lack of eyesight.

I'd play hide and seek with mine, in the living room. I'd stand to one side of the door, he'd barrel in, slide to a stop, try to look around & I'd yell HEY and move away from him. He always bounced up and down and took off after me and I'd roll him by hand over the floor.

Be very careful with your feet around ferrets, they are too easy to step on.

Yes! They are naturally near sighted.

They also have almost no depth perception. That's why they have no problem walking right off of your furniture and falling to the floor. They all need little ferret glasses, but hey when your that cute nobody minds when you run into things.

Ok, my sister has one ferrett and my dad has 2. I dont actually have any of my own but I do have stories!! They started out with having a female and male names Gladis(sp?) and Abner (think its from bewitched) Gladis sadly died and they went and got an albino ferrett and named him Jack. Then my sister went and got a baby one and named his Diesel. He is the biggest ferrett I have ever seen in my life! But Diesel is mean. He bites, hard! Abner is the sweetest one. He crawls inside of my boots and takes naps! Then my dad has a cat named Tigger, which is declawed and Abner will sneak up on him and then they will get in wrestling matches. Abner will jump off the coffee table to tackle Tigger! Its so funny! Ok I'll shut up now! P.S. I like Hakuna and Matata...very cute. Here are some cute ones too Adam and Eve Anthony and Cleopatra Romeo and Juliet Bonnie and Clyde (favorite!) Milo and Otis And sorry about your ferret that died.

Yes, they do. Ferrets cannot even distinguish the details of their owners faces. Most ferrets identify members of their 'business' or their owners by way of sound and smell.

Learn How To Improve Eyesight!

Yes, they generally have poor eyesight, but they more than make up for it with their sense of smell. The only problem you may find with their eyesight that they don't make up for with their nose or ears is their depth-perception. They can squirm off of you, thinking that the floor isn't that far away, and seriously injure themselves.

Good luck, I hope this helps!

Yes and it doesn't help that when you're playing with them, they're doing the silly side hopping run looking at you and not the piece of furniture they're about to run into.
