Over 55 years it started with 1/2 day...then slowly the cycle became longer with each passing year until my 40's and my cycle was 14 days with a week off and back to it. In my 40's I was all over the place with spots to a pad every 30 minutes...the 50's began to slow down and for the pass two years, nothing but hot flashes and some mild emotions.

The normal menstrual cycle lasts anywhere from 28-35 days. The normal period is from 3-7 days in length.
My cycle lasted around 28 or 29 days.

Typically the menstrual cycle occurs over 28 days but ranges from 21 to 35 days in adults and 21 to 45 days in young teens. Anything below 21 days or beyond 35/45 (whatever is applicable) is not normal and can be caused by pregnancy, extreme wt loss, stress, eating disorders, hormonal problems, exercise, etc.
The period itself, normally should last anywhere from 2-7 days but might be longer in the first yrs after you begin your period.

Hi,
Normal cycle is 7 days.But there are people
who go 8 or 9 days.If you are going longer
than that I would go to the doctor to see if
every thing is alright.
There are things that a doctor can give to you to help get it back to normal.
