I recently bought 2 cards of memory (Patriot 512MB) to upgrade the memory in my Dell Dimension 8200. They didn't fit when I tried to put them in. The memory I bought had only one indentation on the bottom whereas the slots had two prongs sticking up so that the memory didn't fit. I was wondering if anyone knows what type of memory I need to look for and could possibly point out some good memory at newegg or tigerdirect. Thanks!

Are you trying to put laptop memory in a desktop computer or vice versa? I would go to dell.com and click "support" and look up your computer to find out exactly what type of memory it takes. But don't buy the memory from them because they'll rip you off. Like you said, go to newegg. I hope this helps a little

If I remember correctly, the 8200 uses the RDRAM, which is now discontiued, plus any you can find are very expensive, I would advice trying ebay first, failing that, save your money for a total upgrade instead.
