I Have been in Law Enforcement for over 12 years and I have experience in dealing with liars, thieves and con men. Someone looking away from you, eye movement and position are key indicators, but there is more to it.
1.Perspiration - Sweating is a bad sign.
2.Gulping - When a person gulps before, during or after the questions asked.
3.Movement - restlessness and fidgeting during questioning
4. Covering - If the person puts their hand to their mouth while answering questions they are subconciously covering up a lie.
5.Lip Biting
6.Re-direction - If the person being questioned tries to distract you or is being extremely helpful in accusing other people and offering suggestions as to how the incident could have occured, anything to take the focus off of them
7.Parotting - Repeating questions directed towards them because they are stalling for time and carefully thinking about, memorizing and reviewing their answers
8.Questioning the Interrogator - Example; the person being questioned asks the interrogator "If I Killed Nicole and that other guy then why would I blah blah blah....and would I have done this if this had happened, what's my motive why would I do that?" etc. etc.
9. Complicated story lines - If someone being questioned gives you the most complicated, detailed, laundry list of things that they were doing on the date of the incident. Talking about anything from their sick Grandmother to their long lost cat Mr. Fluffer Nutter is a sure sign.
10. Defensive - When the accused becomes extremely aggitated and unreasonably irrational. Cursing, throwing a fit or temper tantrum, and finally storming out...that is a defensive mechanism (the fight or flee response).

There are so called "white lies" and these are not harmful. Say, you say to a lady that she is beautiful even if its not true but you did it only as a compliment. Be honest to yourself. You will know that someone lies not in an instant because the truth will come out sooner or later.

the different ways of lying are : white lies and lies.
white lies are commonly used by adults . and about how we know that someone lies , if u look carefully, there will be a glint in the liar's eyes.... only some people can see it. the glint in their eyes are very hard to spot and you have to spot it quickly or else when they blink , it will be gone.

- a "good child" or a "normal teenager", or "angst"

- "authority" and "leader".
- "certification" and "qualification".
1b) lying about a group of concepts: Stereotypes
- "natural flavors"
- "red-necks"
- "students"

2) lying about memory.
- making something up to replace a memory.
- saying that a memory doesn't exist.
- exaggerating

3) lying about self.

#1 and #3 seem to always be harmful.
#2 is only harmful when it manipulates people, and that usually only happens because #1 and/or #3 have already been done to excess.
