Mariah Carey has more vocal range..Janet Jackson is a very talented performer and dancer.
I think overall Jackson would put on a better show. Carey would wow you with her voice.

There really is no contest.
Poor Janet has had her moments but it seems like she's given up and lost that baby. 'That's the Way Love Goes' would have to be one of her best. But its been a long while - prob too long since she really squeeked - or is it whispered anything even half decent.
OK, so she can do a few moves on the dance floor, but how many times are we really wanting to watch the same move's over and over again.
Without a doubt I would have to say Mariah Carey has to be the better of the two. She has definitely done more and that girl can sing, she had a rough time and many didn't think she could but she came back with something new and very different. She's covered a wider audience and that last album was just fab.

Mariah has a better vocal talent then Janet. If you put both on a stool in front of an audience and give them the same song to sing Mariah will win. Janet's range is not that great. But she is a better performer on stage and in videos.

All in all Mariah Carey, sells more is more and her voice is pretty freakin good! Janet has good qualites as well but im goin with Mariah, theres just toooo many things outweighing her to janet cuz when it comes down to it, its about the voice, when you buy the C.d. you dont get the dance moves and concerts and shouts back to fans, people buy that for the Music!!! Bring music back and leave the entertainment for the fans, The music was here before the Entertainment! and thats what sells, that and the body, the attitude and the voice and that freaking song that is one of my all time favorite songs in the world

Janet has a better style voice for dances and entertainment. always been able to get better beats and rhythms for her than Mariah. Different styles of voices and types of music for both, but Ms. Jackson wins it for me.

They are totally different. You cant really put them in the same category. I prefer Mariah's music.
Mariah has better vocal range.
Janet has better dance rythem.
It's just like saying who's better, Britney or Christina? I love both but they are different although they both sing Pop.
