I believe in evolution, therefore I would say the egg. Over many generations of animals selective breeding took place and different types of animals (birds included) mated and evolved and their offspring changed with the evolutionary changes until there was an egg, the result of the evolution of generations, and from that egg came a chicken. (might not have been a hen, might have been a rooster)

The parents of that egg might not have been what we recognize as chickens, but only something similar, but the result of the breeding produced a chicken from the egg.

Adam and then Eve. That means the cock came first, then the hen and then the eggs.

Chicken perhaps evolved from some other life form and then began laying eggs.
