I always use my own personal experience, I have nearly 63 years of it...........and I try to never be a jerk and only give serious answers..........

If it is something I am familiar with I give an answer from my own personal experience.
Then if it is a question concerning things I do not know about I try to look in places to find helpful answers to the person needing help. Especially if it is a medical question that could harm some one if I gave an incorrect answer. I do not just give dumb answers just to be a jerk .

I give an answer from personal experience or from knowledge I already have. If I can look it up so can they so I assume they are looking for more personal answers. I will give a dumb answer to a dumb question.

No I don't give the rude answers however depending upon the question sometimes it is based upon the personal experience and sometimes I do look some information up it really just depends. Mostly I just know though.

Personally, I only answer questions where I know the answer, but will cross check myself on the web and provide sources as appropriate. This forum has rules for answers that you think are "off handed" or malicious.

if i have to look it up then that means i dont know the answer, so why am i bothered to answer it, if its a question that needs looking up the asker is just as capable as me to google it, i answer questions when i know the answer, and as for giving a dumb answer, well thats the beauty of Polls and Surveys, is there such thing as a dumb answer? ive seen plenty of rude, crude, and insulting answers

All three :D It depends on the question. And yes, if someone is asking a dumb question on purpose, they're going to get a dumb answer on purpose
