Are there any household items (fruits, veggies, etc.) that are good for, specifically betta, fish to eat? I also have to albino dwarf frogs that I have pellet food for but they mostly eat the fish flakes. Are there any grocery foods I can chop up and put in the tank for all of them or just the fish?

Blood worms! You can get the frozen, sugar-cube sized variety that you chip little bits off of, or you can give 'em a real treat and give them live blood worms. The live blood worms are a little slimy, but Betas LOVE them! You can keep the container of live worms in the fridge, but be sure the lid is on TIGHT so they don't escape and make your fridge a horror!

Bettas are carnivores, so there isn't much in the way of fruits and veggies that interest them. I've had mine eat pieces of cooked green peas (with the skins removed) - this is something I feed mine on a weekly basis as a preventative for constipation (yes, fish can get constipated, and bettas are prone to this!).

If you're looking for something to add some variety to their diet, you can always try to cultivate some mosquito larvae. Just set out a pan with water and put in a few leaves. If you've got mosquitos (adults) in your area, you'll probably get some wigglers. Just be sure to use them before they metamorphose into biting adults.

There are things called dried up blood worms.
I know it sounds gross, but my Betta loves it.
The frog you have will eat it as well, but the frog would be better off with the flakes.
There are little pellets that you can also purchase for your Betta.
They also eat plant roots, and sleep next to them, which is how they got the idea to but the plant on top of the vase and put the fish inside it.
Hope this helps you.
Best of luck! :)

Bloodworms, microworms, a little bit of beefheart but would balance this off with some veggies.

Mosquito larvae, some bloodworms and other meaty insects ( if youre thinking earthworms, wash it first)
