is direct x10 not useable with xp ?

No idea what that last piece of rambling was about, but anyway, you can use it with XP, but you won't get the benefits of DirectX 10. Should you be worrying about that, no you shouldn't. DirectX 10 is amazing, it really is, but it takes an incredible amount of power, so if you were to run a DirectX 10 game with that card in Vista, you would have to set the settings pretty low just to get decent framerates, because that is just a midrange card. And what would be the point of getting all the DirectX 10 goodies if you have to turn the settings down just to get them. Hence, don't even worry about DirectX 10 with that card.

Yes gpu will still run but directX 10 can only function on Vista your gpu will run directX 9.
DirectX 10 is Vista exclusive and won't be added to XP.

You can use a DirectX10 card with XP but it will only run at DX9 because XP doesn't and never will support DX10.

BUT there are news that microsoft released the directX9.0c then the well hidden directX "alpha10" for Xp.
