Not in my book, I want (and give) the truth, both barrels

Depends on the situation. If you wish to attack and manipulate someone, the best thing to do is mix lies with the truth. Most people are extremely vulnerable to this. If you are going to do this, you must either have a great memory to remember your lies, or you must convice yourself psycholgically, over time ,that the lies were in fact the truth, and come to accept this as fact. It's twisted, but again it depends on who you are dealing with!! If you just caught your wife or husband cheating on you, then by all means lie and manipulate!!

By which standard of morality?

I would say yes. If your life or loved one's life is in danger, for example, I would have no qualms about lying. Not everyone is owed the truth.

I guess not. But I cant say I've never lied to someone. I think little white lies are ok like when your slightly overweight friend asks you if she looks fat in what she's wearing. What are you gonna say? "Holy cow-you look like a whale!" I dont think so.

I think if it is to save hurt to a family member or close friend then a little lie never hurt any-one.
