It's from being cooped up indoors. Flu and colds are contagious and transmitted by droplets of mucus.

In very hot climates, it's a summer disease, because people are indoors in air conditioned homes/offices all day long. Compare Phoenix,AZ vs Minneapolis,MN and you'll see what I mean.

No.. the main cause is the fact because it is cold and folks keep their houses warm and closed up giving the flu bug a reason to grow... a bug has to have heat to grow.. cold temps usually will kill most ; that is why it is usually freezing in an operating room.
