I don't know what he means. That is is just thinking about it or he is leaning that way of having a relationship again. Can someone please help understand what this guy is really thinking. Thanks

Back off. He is giving you a round about way of saying that it is going to be totally his way and his time, or nothing. More than likely, he is checking his other options out first. I would just move on, and let him come crawling back to you if he doesn't find what he is looking for.

My ex-boyfriend basically said the same thing--then when I confronted him, he said that it was over between us and there would never be an 'us' again. It was his round about way of trying not to hurt my feelings about breaking up with me, which was just leading me on. DON'T try to get this guy back. It sounds like he just wants to move on, but doesn't know exactly how to tell you. Either tell him to tell you, up front and bluntly, what it is he wants, or you just move on. I know it's hard to hear this from someone you love, but it is better that they be honest and tell you up front (and bluntly) what they want to do rather than lead you on to thinking that there may be a chance, no matter how slight it is, that there could be something between the two of you. This hurts more when they do finally say that they don't want you than if they had been up front in the first place because you realize just how long they had been leading you on. DON'T let him do this to you. Don't let ANYONE do this to you, ever.

This guy doesn't want to just come out and say he doesn't want to be with you anymore. He is keeping you dangling in case his new options don't pan out. If he does come back don't take him back, it would only be until he finds something better and he would be looking. You need to move on.
