no matter what you want to say....be VERRRRRY careful about what bridges that you burn when you leave some place. I had a boss once who was the most evil witch from Hell. 5 yrs later I had moved and went to interview at a job and when they called they told me to see "mrs...so& so" in the dept that I was wanting to work. I noticed the name but figured.....3 states away and 5 yrs later....NO WAY.......YES WAY!!!!! I called and pretended to be someone else, with the wrong # and the minute I heard her voice I knew she too had moved to the same state and was in the same hospital I was planning on going to. OF course, I called HR and cancelled my interview and when they asked me why.....I told them I just happened to have worked under the woman in charge before and was not going to do so again. ....thank you very much.
Always be careful about burning bridges....unless you plan on taking your life.

First it would depend on why I was leaving my job. If it were because I received a better position or I was relocating out of the area, I would say, " I just want you to know that I really appreciate you, the company and all that you have done for me. That includes all the spats we've had, all the lunches we went out on, all the laughs we had on Friday's, all the moans we had on Monday's", and I would be in tears I know. If it were on bad terms, I would just leave and tell them its been nice working for you.

Thanks for letting me work in this brilliant company, for giving me the privilege to impart my skills and talents. I am pleased that i had learned and gained a lot of experiences that will add up and help in my future work. Try to say all the good and positive things, because when your going to apply someday in other companies. it will reflect on your previous job.

If you like your boss and your job then "Thanks for the opportunity". If your boss sux and so does your job, "Kiss my ****..." haha! I'd say whatever it is that I'm feeling at the time. Remember: you're leaving, say whatever you want!

if i was you i wouldn't just break it to him just yet, maybe try to tell him nicely, sometimes, when the boss is really grumpy, you're gonna have to wait till he's in a better mood

I would tell him you appreciate the opportunity he provided to you, by accepting you into his company. Thank him for his confidence in your abilities, and the satisfaction and pride you feel from the success of your effort.

Regardless of whether I liked them or not, I wished them well and told them bye when I had to retire on disability. I am, after all, an adult and not a child.

I said "My water broke and I won't be back". Ha ha.

Actually I left a voicemail that said that because it was 6 in the morning.
